Your seat and the float map
How to read the seat chart in the Your float panel and download your float map as a PDF.
Once your float is published, the Your float panel at the top of My Account shows your seat and a chart of the whole float. You can also download the same information as a printable float map.
Your seat
Your seat is written out in the panel’s first line after the float’s name, for example “Row 2 · Driver · Lower”. That means:
- Row 2: rows are numbered from 1.
- Driver or Sidewalk: which side of the float you’re on.
- Lower or Upper: the level, on a float with two levels.
Reading the seat chart
Under the details is a chart of the float, one table per level. On a two-level float the upper level comes first. Each table has the columns Row, Driver, Center and Sidewalk.
- Your seat is highlighted and marked You.
- The other riders’ names are in their seats, so you can see who you’ll be riding next to.
- The Center column shows features of the float in that row, such as Stairs, Bathroom or Don’t block, in italics. It’s blank where there’s nothing to note.
- A blank seat is open.
- When a rider has the whole row, the Sidewalk seat reads Full row. If it’s your row, the whole row is highlighted.
- Someone riding in place of another member shows with “(for” and that member’s name after their own. See Substitutes.
On a phone, the chart may be wider than your screen. Scroll sideways to see all the columns, or download the float map.
Download the float map
- Open My Account.
- In the Your float panel, click Download float map (PDF).
The PDF is a one-page (or more, for a long float) sheet for your float. It has the krewe’s logo and name with the parade year, the float’s number, name and prop, the lieutenant and any assistants with their phone numbers, how many seats are filled, and the same seat chart. It’s handy to save on your phone or print for parade day.
The float map always reflects the latest seating, so if anything changes, download it again for an up-to-date copy.
The button only appears once your float is published. You can only download the map for your own float this season.
Need a different seat?
Seats are set by your lieutenant and the krewe. Once a float is finished, it’s locked so seats don’t move around. If you need a change, talk to your lieutenant.
