Create your account
Sign up with your name and email and choose a password, or set your password from the welcome email when your krewe made the account for you.
You need an account on your krewe’s site before you can register for the season, pay dues or use the store. There are two ways to get one, and which one applies depends on your krewe:
- You sign up yourself, if your krewe takes new sign-ups.
- Your krewe creates the account for you and you get a welcome email to set your password.
If the sign-in screen has a Join [your krewe] link at the bottom, your krewe takes sign-ups. If it doesn’t, ask your krewe to add you.
Sign up yourself
- Go to your krewe’s home page and select Join [your krewe] under the sign-in box. (You can also go straight to
/signup/on your krewe’s site.) - Enter your Name and Email. You don’t choose a password yet.
- Select Sign up. The page changes to Check your email.
- Open the email from your krewe. By default its subject is Confirm your email. Open the link inside it.
- The link opens Choose a password. Enter a Password and type it again under Confirm password.
- Select Create my account. You’re signed in straight away and taken to My Account.
Your account is only created when you finish step 6. Until then, nothing exists, so if you don’t confirm, no account is made.
The confirmation link expires 24 hours after it’s sent and only the newest link works. If you sign up twice, use the link in the latest email. If the link has expired you’ll see This link has expired with a Sign up again link to start over.
If no email arrives, check your spam or junk folder. The page says a link is on its way if the address can be signed up. If you already have an account with that email address, no new email is sent. Try resetting your password instead.
If you see This krewe is not taking new accounts right now., your krewe has turned sign-ups off. Ask your krewe to add you.
When your krewe creates your account
Some krewes add their members themselves. When they do, they can send you a welcome email. By default its subject is Welcome to [your krewe]!
- Open the welcome email and open the link inside it.
- If this is a new account, the link takes you to Choose a new password. Enter a New password and type it again under Confirm new password.
- Select Save new password. You go back to the sign-in screen with Your password has been changed. Log in with your new password.
- Sign in with your email address and your new password.
If you already had an account, the welcome link just takes you to the sign-in screen.
The password link in a welcome email expires after about a day and works only once. If it has expired, or you never got the email, go to the sign-in screen, select Forgot your password? and enter your email address. That sends you a fresh link. See Forgot or reset your password.
Choosing a password
The password has to be at least Medium on the strength meter shown under the box. In practice that means either:
- at least 10 characters that mix at least three kinds of character (lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, symbols), or
- 14 or more characters that mix at least two kinds.
Very common passwords (like password123 or mardigras) and passwords containing the first part of your email address are always refused. The button stays greyed out until the password is strong enough and both boxes match.
An account is not a membership
Creating an account doesn’t make you a member for the season. Once you’re signed in, My Account shows a Join [your krewe] for [year] panel. When registration is open, select Join the krewe to register. See Joining and dues.
