Throw packages delivered to your float
When your krewe loads throw packages straight onto the floats, what you'll see on your order and why you must pay in full first.
A throw package is a bundle of throws you buy for the parade. You buy it in the store like anything else, usually from a category called Throw Packages. The product description tells you what’s in it.
Some krewes hand packages out at pickup with everything else. Others load them straight onto the floats for riders, so you don’t have to carry them. Your krewe decides which.
How to tell if your package goes to the float
Look at the item on the Orders or My Throws tab in My Account:
- Delivered to float: it’s paid for and will be loaded onto your float. There’s nothing to collect.
- Awaiting payment (delivered to float once paid): it will go to your float, but only once the order is paid in full.
- Ready for pickup: your krewe hands packages out at pickup. See Pick up your order.
Whether an item is picked up or delivered to the float is decided when you place the order, and doesn’t change afterwards.
Pay in full before the parade
Float crews only load packages from orders that are paid in full. If your item says Awaiting payment (delivered to float once paid), pay your balance from the Orders tab well before the parade. See Pay the rest of an order.
If everything you’ve ordered goes to the float, you won’t see a pickup code on the Orders tab and you won’t be invited to a pickup day for those items. That’s expected.
Which float?
Packages go to the float you’re riding on. If you aren’t sure of your float or your package isn’t where you expected on parade day, ask your lieutenant or the krewe. See Riding in the parade.
