My payment didn’t go through or still shows owing

What to check when a card payment seems to have failed, is still processing, or your balance hasn't updated, before you pay again.

Before you pay again, check whether the first payment went through. Paying twice means waiting for your krewe to refund the extra.

Check My Account first

  1. Go to My Account and open the Dues tab.
  2. Look for a Card payment line with today’s date in the table.
  3. Check your email for a Payment received receipt.

If the payment is there, it went through, even if something looked odd on the way back from the payment page.

What the payment messages mean

MessageWhat it means
Payment cancelled — nothing was charged. You left the payment page without paying. Nothing was charged. Try again when you’re ready.
Your payment is being processed. It will show on your account shortly — you do not need to pay again. The payment page took your card, but your krewe’s site hasn’t finished recording it yet. Wait a few minutes and reload My Account. Don’t pay again.
We could not reach our payment processor. Please try again in a few minutes. The payment didn’t start, so nothing was charged. Try again later.
Balances under $0.50 cannot be paid online. Please contact the krewe to settle it.The amount is too small for a card payment. Ask your krewe how to settle it.

If your card was declined, the payment page tells you so and nothing is charged. Check the card details, try another card, or contact your bank.

I paid but it still shows owing

  • Paid by card a moment ago? Give it a few minutes and reload the page. Card payments are usually recorded within a minute.
  • Paid by cash or check? It shows only after an officer records it. That can take a few days, depending on your krewe.
  • Paid only part? If you paid less than the full amount, the rest still shows as owing. That’s expected. See Joining and dues.
  • Was there a refund? A refund shows as Refund issued and adds the amount back to your balance.
  • A new charge? Your krewe can add charges such as fines during the season. Check the Description column on the Dues tab.

Still wrong after a day, or charged twice? Contact your krewe from the Support tab on My Account. Include the date, the amount and the last four digits of the card. See Who to contact.

Store and event payments

Store orders are on the Orders tab and event tickets on My Tickets, not the Dues tab. Check there if the payment was for something you bought. See Store and Events.
